Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Contest                                                                 

The 2025 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.

The 2026 applications are available from August 1, 2025 and must be submitted by November 12, 2025.  

The 2026 contest is completed, and the winners will be announced in March and April.

Elks National Foundation Legacy Awards                                                                                    

Legacy Awards are $4000 ($1000yr/4 years). These Scholarships are for the children and grandchildren (step-child or step-grandchild) of Elks members. New Jersey families will be eligible for at least 10 awards. The Legacy applications will be available on September 1, 2024 and need to be submitted by February 3, 2025. The 2025 winners will be announced in April 2025.

Gunther & Lee Weigel Medical School Scholarship

The Gunther & Lee Medical Scholarship is for Elks Scholars pursuing a medical or Osteopathic Medicine degree. The application for 2025 is open now anow and due by May 19th, 2025. If you are an Elks scholar planning to attend an accredited U.S. medical school to pursue a medical degree or Osteopathic Medicine degree, consider applying before you begin your first year of medical school. Applications open in January. Request an application from the ENF Scholarship office by emailing scholarship@elks.org or calling (773) 755-4732.

Elks National Foundation Emergency Education Grants                                                                               

These grants provide financial assistance to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks, who wish to obtain or further their college education.

  • Available upon request starting May 1, 2026. To request an EEG application for you or someone you know, please email scholarship@elks.org or call 773/755-4732.

  • All applications must be received by the ENF Scholarship Office by December 31, 2026. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

 New Jersey Elks Family Scholarship                                                                                                   

These $900.00 scholarships are available to children, grand-children and great-grandchildren (step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren) of New Jersey Elks. High school seniors as well as college freshman, sophomores, and juniors can apply. A student should apply each year of eligibility. It runs from April 15th to June 30th each year.

New Jersey Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarships                                                                                      

The top 24 Most Valuable Student Scholarship applications from New Jersey go on to the national level of judging and will be awarded at least a $4000 ($1000yr/4 years) scholarship and it could be more if any of the applicants go onto the Leadership Weekend.  The next 96 runner-ups are awarded a one-time $700 scholarship by the NJ State Elks Association. The 2025 contest is completed and the winners will be announced in late March 2025.

New Jersey Elks Special Children’s Committee Scholarship                                                           

The Special Children’s Committee awards two $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year) and two $4,000 scholarships ($1000 per year). They are awarded to two graduating male high school seniors and two graduating female high school seniors from the State of New Jersey. In early November applications are available online at NJElks.org and are also sent to schools throughout New Jersey. They are due back by mid-April.   Applications can be found at SCC Scholarship or at njelks.org under the Special Children's Committee.

New Jersey Elks Vocational Scholarship                                                                                                                

The winners of the New Jersey Elks Vocational Scholarship Competition will each receive a one-time $1000.00 award. There will be two (one male – one female) $1000.00 Vocational Scholarships awarded in each of the twelve Elks’ Districts in New Jersey for a total of $24,000.00 in Scholarship Awards.

It is for students who have completed their secondary education requirements and plan to attend or are attending a post-secondary school to pursue a certificate or credential in a vocational or technical program. Post-secondary schools include vocational or technical schools. Students attending a two year community college are also eligible as long as they are pursuing a certificate or credential. Students planning to earn an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree are not eligible for this scholarship program.

This scholarship is available to graduating high school students or within four years of earning a high school diploma or a GED. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey on the date that the application is submitted.
Applications must be submitted to the student’s local Elks Lodge, postmarked between March 5, 2025 and May 12, 2025
